About Proper Cornish Food Company...

Proper Cornish Food Company is the UK's leading handmade Cornish pasty manufacturer.  Cornish to the core, we're based in Bodmin in beautiful North Cornwall, use Cornish produce wherever possible and make our traditional Cornish pasties to an old family recipe handed down through generations.  We've been making pasties since 1988 and, dedicated to sharing the delights of Cornish gastronomy, we supply to wholesalers, independent retailers, supermarkets, catering outlets and tourist attractions across the UK and beyond.

It all started when three Cornishmen, Phil Ugalde and brothers Dave and Chris Pauling, became disillusioned with commercially made, so-called 'Cornish' pasties, and decided to take a stand for Cornish heritage.  So, taking a Pauling family recipe and a little Cornish know-how, we started hand-crafting our traditional Cornish pasties.

Today our pasty range has expanded to include over 20 different flavours.  We regularly research new and exciting products and while the traditional Cornish steak pasty remains the customers' favourite, interest in new and unusual flavours is on the increase.  We've developed a range of pasties to cater for these ever evolving taste trends, including Steak & Stilton, Chicken Balti and even Chocolate and Banana!

We have a dedicated team of chefs who create and taste recipes for us (it's a wonderful job and somebody's got to do it!).  Dave and his innovative team of skilled bakers weave their magic in the kitchen to rustle up tasty new treats that showcase the very best, fresh, local produce.
