Charity
Cornwall is a beautiful peninsula and as a result the Cornish have a close relationship with the sea. When it came to choosing a charity for us to support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was the natural choice.
Proper Cornish Food Company and sister company Furniss of Cornwall will be running various charity events including the Dragon Boat Racing in Falmouth, Marathons and other smaller events throughout the year.
RNLI Support to date
Feb 2009 After being postponed due to the snowy conditions, we finally held our 'Sup our Soup' day in our staff canteen. We made some stew and dumplings and vegetable soup with a roll and sold it to our staff of lunch, we raised £82.64.
April 2009 We sponsored Carolyne Graber from Liskeard £100.00 to complete the London Marathon raising money for the RNLI. A huge well done from all at Proper Cornish!
May 2009 A Team from Proper Cornish and a team from Furniss went to Exeter to raise money for the RNLI by completeing The Great West Run half marathon and a 5K run, well done to everyone for completeing your events. Total raised was £1168.00.
