Proper Cornish...

Going Green...

Cornwall is England's green peninsula and we have a responsibility as a Cornish manufacturer to take good care of it.  We take this seriously and seek to minimise environmental impact in every aspect of our business.

For a start, this means recycling all our cardboard, office paper and metal (up to ½ tonne of cardboard every day), and as much plastic as possible.

We have installed a Water Trreatment Bio Reactor, the purpose of which is to treat our effluent water from our vegetable preperation unit before returning it to South West Waters' drains. This will reduce the Chemical Oxygen Demend (COD) and the Suspended Solids (SS) that is present in the effluent thereby reducing our effluent costs.

We are the first food manufacturer in the country to install a BioNova biodigestion plant - a cutting edge solution for food waste. We have spent over £90,000 on the high tech system that will literally transform our waste into a fuel, and which will eventually power the hot water system in our factory.
