Proper People...

Proper Cornish Food Company is made up of a merry band of Cornwall fanatics.  Below are just the head honchos, but the company's success is thanks to the whole team.

Co-founder Phil Ugalde, Chairman,  is a Cornishman through and through and is extremely passionate about Cornwall and all aspects of the Proper Cornish business.  When he's not behind his desk devising the next plan of action, Phil can be found taking a family trip in his camper van to one of his favourite beaches, Daymer Bay in North Cornwall.

Co-founder Chris Pauling is the company's Managing Director and a Cornishman from the inside out.  As well as Proper Cornish Food Company, Chris also looks after the running of our new venture, Furniss biscuits.  When he's not at work, Chris can be found turning an original mining engine house into a family home for Jane and the children.

Jane Flowerdew is Proper Cornish Food Company's Marketing Director.  Married to Chris Pauling, Jane has been with the company since the very beginning, helping to build the long-term relationships we enjoy with our customers.  When she's not strategizing, Jane can often be found horse riding with her daughters on the beautiful Cornish beaches.

Gerald Allen is Proper Cornish Food Company's Operations Director and started with the company at a very tender age, some say while still in shorts.  Known affectionatly as Billy, Proper Cornish legend has it that Gerald bore a passing resemblance to Billy Bunter in his early years.  When Gerald isn't on site keeping the workforce in line, he can be found playing football for a local Cornish team and helping out with the youth level football.

Matthew Bowern is Proper Cornish Food Company's Sales Director and works very hard to ensure that he finds the right partners to work with. Matt loves the snow and can often be found flinging himself off a mountain on his snowboard or apres skiing in the bar.
