Three Cornishmen (Phil Ugalde and brothers Dave & Chris Pauling) took a stand for Cornish heritage and quality when they started hand-crafting exceptional authentic Cornish pasties from their kitchen table, with just a handful of staff, making around 100 pasties a day.
We took delivery of our very first branded fleet of vehicles – 3 Mercedes Sprinter vans and 2 Toyota Corolla cars. This was an extremely proud moment in our history.
We attended our First National Exhibition – IFE in London. Although an exciting time for Proper Cornish, and the platform that launched us on to the national stage, it was also very scary being a small Cornish company sitting along-side some major international players!
Achieved our first recognised Food Accreditation (EFSIS).
Time for a brand refresh as consumer feedback was that our previous blue and yellow logo reminded them of dairy products, so it was time for a change of branding to something which represented Cornwall and bakery colours.
We achieved our first BRC Food Accreditation, achieving a fantastic Grade A.
Guinness World Record holder for World’s Largest pasty – weighing in at an incredible 1604 lb. The giant pasty was created as part of the TV show “Monster Munchies”.
HRH Princess Alexandra visited for a tour of our bakery and even had a go at crimping.
Time for a brand refresh to reflect what we do – “The Pasty Makers."
Awarded 4 Taste of the West Awards, including 2 Golds and 1 Gold at The British Pie Award.*
We took delivery of our new fleet of vans, which look simply stunning out on the roads.
More wins at The World Pasty Championships, with our team making another clean sweep in the Cornish Pasty Professional Category (1st, 2nd and 3rd), and also one of our crimpers being crowned the “World’s Fastest Crimper” – a fabulous achievement.*
Announced as a FDF (Food & Drink Federation) Award Finalist. We're keeping our fingers crossed for the ceremony on 29th November 2022!

On 14th December 2023, our parent company Boncolac launched a new group name: Onoré. Inspired by the patron saint of bakers, Saint Honoré, this new name conveys the brand values of the group: Excellence, Passion, Caring, and Empowerment.
